Frequently Asked Questions

What is the closest aiport?

Harry Reid International Airport has shuttles daily to the Ivins, St George area and has rental cars available. The closest airport by distance is St George Regional airport which is rapidly expanding in terms of offering competitive pricing and is very close to our headquarters. You will be responsible for getting to home base from the airport. *For our North Idaho camp GEG/Spokane international is the closest airport and is approximately 50 miles from North Idaho HQ.

What about lodging? Can I book my own?

We book incredible short term rental houses that sleep up to 20 guests. If you prefer to have a private room or book somewhere other than our proposed location there are many options in the area. See more here.

How many, and what kind of meals?

We will be providing whole foods cooked with high quality ingredients for all meals. If you have any dietary restrictions let us know. We can make accommodations for gluten, dairy, and vegetarian alternatives. All meals will be provided on Friday/Saturday/Sunday of camp.

What routes are we taking?

Once you sign up for camp you will get full itinerary and gps routes via strava. Each camp will have a welcome ride for early arrivals on Thursday and will be between 20-25 miles in afternoon. Friday expect to ride 40-55 miles. Saturday expect the epic adventure you will never forget. Options will be between 55-75 miles. Expect everything from smooth gravel, some connecting paved roads, steep climbs, chunky short sections and everything in between. Sunday is another 40 mile point to point. If you are feeling like a superhero or really want extra miles we can accommodate for this. Please let us know prior to attending camp. If you come from a part of the country that has rolling hills or flat roads you may be surprised by how difficult some of these routes are given the elevation gain.

Do I have to be an elite level athlete to come? What about e-bikes?

Absolutely not! We expect all different levels. We will ask you some questions when you sign up to cater things better to each athlete and the overall group, but this camp is made for anyone who loves gravel riding, camaraderie, and a sense of adventure. We are completely open to class 1 and class 3 e-bikes. Whether it is to level the playing field or just because your fitness isn’t where you want it yet.

What tires do you recommend?

Most cyclists will be running at least 45mm and larger. We recommend no less than 42mm.

Do you offer refunds if something happens in the lead-up to camp?

Spots are fully refundable up to 90 days prior to camp weekend. 90 days to 30 days from camp you will get a 50% refund. From 30 days out until camp weekend, we do not offer refunds. After cancelation we can offer you moving to a future camp.

What if I forget something?!

No need to worry. We have access to the best gear, including anything you might forget within reason available for purchase.

Weather:

Temperatures in the high desert can fluctuate sometimes 40-50 degrees during the day. We always have alternate routes in case of unforeseen or major weather events and will prioritize safety. This means routes could change or be shortened and even cancelled. This will always be communicated as best as possible beforehand. For our North Idaho camps weather can vary from 60-100 degrees and rain is always a possibility.
